The first step in the development
I hope that my comments above will to understand what is happening during the turn. In short, both types of turns lead to an increase in vertical and horizontal speed, but for a planned maneuver, turning with front free ends is generally preferable as leaving a larger “gap” in case of calculation errors or a sudden change in the situation. Unfortunately, the majority of unplanned, “panic” turns are made by just the brake calipers, which led to a considerable number of accidents. Regardless of whether a turn is made at the free ends or brake lines, whether it is planned or not – if the withdrawal is not completed before the meeting with the land, the consequences may be dire. Рarachute-wing
The presence of a cargo-pendulum suspended under the wing is an important feature of a parachute-wing, which is absent from other aircraft. Virtually the entire load carried by the dome is suspended at a considerable distance from the wing. This feature leads to the peculiar flight characteristics of the dome in turn. When you enter the dome into a turn, the pilot’s body continues to move in a straight line until the lines when the lines turn it to a new course. Continue reading
Under the dome “pilot”
Many skydivers believe that the angle of attack is equal to the angle at which the dome is located to the horizon. This is not true! The angle of attack is the angle between the plane of the wing chord and the direction of relative flow. The angle of attack is changed by turning the wing relative to the relative flow. The aircraft is using tail. Since there is no such thing on the dome, the only way to change the angle of its attack is to operate the control lines. Continue reading
